Saodat Ismailova

Saodat Ismailova (1981) is an Uzbek director and visual artist. Although she has spent many years closely tied to the European art scene, her work continues to explore Central Asia, including its history, myths and everyday rituals. Past films include 40 Days of Silence (2013), a documentary about a woman haunted by the past, which premiered at the Berlinale and has also been shown in the Czech Republic.
