The INDUSTRY COUNTRY IN FOCUS of the 29th Ji.hlava IDFF 2025 will be CROATIA.

The festival will present Croatian projects in development, production, and post-production during the Ji.hlava New Visions Forum on October 28–31.

At the core of the Ji.hlava New Visions Forum is the pitching of carefully selected documentary projects – both in the development stage and in production / post-production stages. The event will take place during the Ji.hlava IDFF and will be attended by film professionals and other stakeholders in the film industry accredited at the festival. The presentations will take place in person.

The call is traditionally open not only to documentary films but also diverse audiovisual formats such as fiction with documentary aspects, hybrid, experimental, short films, docu and web series, cinema expanded projects, games with documentary aspects and VR / AR / Live documentaries.

In our selection process, we focus on the artistic vision of the project, its originality and author-driven character, visual style and fresh spirit, international potential in terms of financing and development of collaboration, openness for sharing the project with other partners, as well as diverse modes of distribution.

The submission is free of charge. The selected projects will receive two complimentary Industry accreditations and accommodation at the festival (3 nights).

Format

Selected projects will be invited to take part in the Ji.hlava New Visions Forum, where the director-producer teams will present their upcoming films on the main stage of the Industry HUB. These projects will also be featured in the online market database, ensuring increased visibility within the professional film community.

Additionally, all participants in the Ji.hlava New Visions Forum are eligible to join the Matchmaking Accelerator held during the Ji.hlava IDFF Industry Days. This dynamic networking platform connects participants with several hundred international film professionals — including festival programmers, curators, distributors, sales agents, commissioning editors, and journalists — fostering collaboration and new opportunities for their projects.
