Ji.hlava New Visions is a financing, co-production and networking event dedicated to supporting documentary production in its diversity and creativity.

Practical info

The Ji.hlava New Visions Forum is a platform for the presentation of carefully selected documentary and audiovisual projects from Europe, U.S. and East & Southeast Asia at various stages of development, production, or post-production. The event will take place during the Ji.hlava IDFF and will be attended by film professionals and other stakeholders in the film industry accredited at the festival.

The Forum is traditionally open not only to documentary films but also diverse audiovisual formats such as fiction with documentary aspects, hybrid, experimental, short films, docu and web series, cinema expanded projects, games with documentary aspects and VR / AR / Live documentaries.

The platform aims at connecting filmmakers from Europe, the U.S., and East & Southeast Asia with potential co-producers, distributors, sales agents, and film festivals, fostering international collaboration and visibility for their projects.

Ji.hlava New Visions Market

The Ji.hlava New Visions Market showcases documentary projects of all types and formats as part of the Ji.hlava IDFF industry programme. It connects producers and industry professionals, supporting project financing, development, promotion, and distribution.

Format

Selected projects for Ji.hlava New Visions Forum are presented by the director-producer pair along with a preview of the upcoming film on the main stage of the Industry HUB and also in the online market database.

The Ji.hlava New Visions Forum 2025 was accompanied by the Ji.hlava New Visions Market. The projects for the market are presented in the online database accessible to all industry-accredited guests.

All participants of the JNV Forum & Market have the opportunity to meet project authors in person onsite or via the Matchmaking Accelerator during the Industry days of IDFF Ji.hlava, creating opportunities for co-productions, collaborations, and expanding the international reach of each project. Matchmaking Accelerator features several hundred accredited film professionals – festival representatives, curators, distributors, sales agents, commissioning editors and journalists from across the world.

The submission is free of charge. In one call you apply for both Ji.hlava New Visions Forum and also Ji.hlava New Visions Market. The selected projects will receive two complimentary Industry Accreditations.
